The job involves conducting risk assessment on the nutritional safety of food and the application of expertise to regulatory compliance activities under official controls. The person will be required to keep abreast of best practice in regulatory science and risk assessment, ensuring activities are based on the best science and evidence available. They will also be expected to contribute to activities under the FSAI science strategy and partake in wider FSAI activities aimed at developing the organisation and its staff. Assigned work will span the areas of foods for specific groups, food supplements, food fortification and nutrition and health claims amongst other nutrition related activities and the person appointed will be expected to liaise with a range of stakeholders, including offering expert advice to the Department of Health who manage food safety policy. It is a challenging but rewarding role that will offer selfdevelopment opportunities and the chance to improve public health.
Pay: €72,067
